The Badoon appeared in some concept art for Disney Infinity 2.0, and even made it as far as a 3D render, but were scrapped before they could be placed into the game. A likely reason for their exclusion from the game is that Disney does not own the film rights to the characters, and had to exclude them from use in the film Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, though there are a few pieces of concept art that cause it to seem likely that they were at one point going to be included in the movie. Knowing this, the fact that the movie and game were in development simultaneously could be part of the reason that the Badoon were considered for inclusion in the game.

At one point, robot versions of the Badoon were considered. The team had concerns the ESRB might take issue with the player inflicting violence on other "living" toys, so they tried to use robots to mitigate those concerns.
